How to shorten and customize your links with the Link Manager?

Promotional Links (Hotlinks) are essential tools for anyone working as an affiliate. To help you succeed, Hotmart provides a free, built-in tool right in your account to view and organize your links effortlessly.

In this article, you’ll learn how this tool works, get step-by-step instructions on how to use it, and discover how to add tracking parameters to identify exactly where your sales are coming from.

What is the Link Manager?

The Link Manager is a tool designed to help you shorten, organize, and customize the appearance of your Hotlinks. Instead of sharing a long, complex URL with your audience, you can transform it into a much simpler, cleaner, and more trustworthy link.

How to shorten a Hotlink using the Hotmart tool?

Follow these steps to set up your shortened link correctly:

1. Log in to your Hotmart account at https://app.hotmart.com/.
2. In the left-side menu, click Tools and select Link Manager.
3. Click the blue plus sign (+) button located in the upper corner of the page.
4. On the first screen, choose one of two main options:
   • Select a Hotlink for a product you are affiliated with directly from the drop-down menu.
   • Paste a valid external URL.
5. Once you have selected your desired original link and added a title for it, click Next.
6. In the next step, choose the default domain provided by the platform for your new link (this ensures a standard, secure redirect branded by Hotmart).
7. Click Save to complete the process. Your new link is ready to copy and use immediately!

How to add campaign parameters to your sales?

The Link Manager allows you to automatically add the SRC parameter while creating your shortened link.

As you go through the URL setup steps, the tool will display a section dedicated to campaign parameters. When a customer makes a purchase through that specific link, the tag you entered will be recorded in your sales reports. This helps you identify which marketing channel is driving the best financial return for your strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions

❯ If I shorten my affiliate link, will I still receive my commission normally?

Yes. The Link Manager only changes the look of the URL to make it more user-friendly for consumers. The internal redirect preserves your unique tracking code (REF) and saves the affiliate cookies in the buyer's browser, ensuring your commission is safely tracked.

❯ Why isn't the product I'm affiliated with appearing in the Link Manager list?

For a product to appear in the Link Manager selection list, the creator must have formally approved your affiliate request, and the product must have active Hotlinks set up for promotion. You can check your affiliation status in the My Products menu.
