MCP Hotmart: how can I view data and take actions in my account using AI?

The MCP Hotmart lets you connect your Hotmart account to compatible artificial intelligence tools, such as Claude Desktop and ChatGPT Desktop.

With MCP Hotmart set up, you can view information from your account directly through the assistant, including sales, subscriptions, products, students, and commissions. The integration also lets you perform certain actions, such as creating coupons or making changes to subscriptions, always according to your profile permissions.

In this article, you'll learn how MCP Hotmart works, what you can do with it, and how to set it up in the assistant you use.

What is MCP Hotmart?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol (Model Context Protocol). This protocol allows artificial intelligence assistants to connect to external data sources, such as systems, apps, and platforms.

For Hotmart, MCP Hotmart creates this connection between the AI assistant and your account. Once the integration is set up, you can ask questions and make requests using simple language, without needing technical commands. For example, you can ask how much you sold during a certain period or request information about a subscription.

When you send a request, the assistant retrieves the information directly from Hotmart and uses that data to respond. Queries are made in real time and depend on a personal access key created and authorized by you.

For the integration to work, Hotmart does not send or store your account data in an external database.

MCP Hotmart is compatible with:

• Claude Desktop (macOS and Windows)
• ChatGPT Desktop (macOS and Windows)
• Other MCP clients, such as IDEs and custom agents, through manual configuration.

What can I do with MCP Hotmart?

MCP Hotmart supports two main types of commands: queries, used to retrieve and analyze information, and actions, which modify data or perform operations in your account.

❯ View data and metrics

You can request information related to your account activity, including sales, subscriptions, products, students, coupons, and commissions.

For example, you can make requests such as:

• “How much did I sell today?”
• “Compare my sales this month with last month.”
• “Which product has the highest conversion rate?”
• “How many students joined the class this week?”
• “Show the history for subscriber [e-mail].”
• “Create a weekly summary of my sales.”

You can also request analyses that combine different types of information, such as period-over-period comparisons, the best-selling product, average order value, or refund rate. In this case, the assistant can organize the data it finds and provide an answer based on your request.

To get results that are closer to what you're looking for, include details such as the period, product, and metric in your prompt. For example, instead of asking only “how are my sales doing?”, you can specify the product and date range you want to analyze.

❯ Perform actions in my account

In addition to queries, MCP Hotmart can perform certain operations, such as:

• Create and delete discount coupons
• Cancel and reactivate subscriptions
• Change a subscription's due date
• Reverse sales and issue refunds

Important: actions that change data in your account must be confirmed before they are carried out. The assistant shows what will be done and waits for your authorization. So, review the information shown before confirming.

How do security and permissions work in MCP Hotmart?

Access to MCP Hotmart is provided through a credential created in your account. This key is personal and should be treated like a password, so it should not be shared.

MCP permissions follow the permissions already assigned to your profile in Hotmart. This means the integration does not expand your account access: if your profile does not have permission to view certain information or perform an action, MCP will not be able to do so either.

If you work with team members, each person must create and use their own credential. Sharing a key means allowing another person to use the access permissions associated with that profile.

In addition, some controls help keep use of the integration secure:

• Revocable key: you can revoke a credential at any time from the Hotmart Platform, for example, when changing computers or when it is no longer in use. To do this, go to Hotmart Credentials, find the key you want to revoke, and delete the credential. Revocation is immediate and stops the assistant's access to your account.
• Action confirmation: whenever an operation changes account data, such as creating a coupon, canceling a subscription, or issuing a refund, the assistant shows what will be done and asks for your confirmation before carrying it out.
• Separate credentials: if you use MCP on more than one device or tool, create a separate credential for each use whenever possible. This makes it easier to identify and revoke only the access you need.

What precautions should I take when using MCP Hotmart?

To use MCP Hotmart more securely and get more accurate responses, consider the recommendations below:

• Make specific requests. Whenever possible, include the period, product, and type of information you want to view. Instead of asking only “how are my sales doing?”, for example, you can ask “how many sales did I make for product X between August 1 and 31?” The more details you provide, the clearer it will be to the assistant which data should be considered.
• Double-check important information in Hotmart. The assistant retrieves the data available in Hotmart, but it may interpret filters, periods, or criteria differently than expected. If the information will be used for a financial or accounting decision, or one related to payouts, also check the data directly in your Hotmart account.
• Review the information before confirming an action. When you request an operation that changes account data, review the summary shown by the assistant before authorizing it. This is especially important for actions such as refunds, subscription cancellations, and coupon creation.
• Keep the assistant up to date. Use updated versions of Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop, or your chosen MCP client. Updates may include fixes and improvements that affect how the integration works.

Frequently asked questions

❯ Do I need to know how to code to use MCP Hotmart?

No. You do not need to know how to code to use MCP Hotmart in Claude Desktop or ChatGPT Desktop. However, setup in IDEs, custom agents, or other MCP clients may require familiarity with configuration files.

❯ Can my team members use MCP Hotmart?

Yes. Each team member must create their own credential on the Hotmart Platform. MCP uses the permissions linked to each person's profile, so a team member can only view information or perform actions they already have access to in the account.

Credentials are personal and should not be shared. If a team member uses a credential from another profile, they will have access to the permissions associated with that key.

If a team member no longer needs to use MCP, they can delete their own credential on the Hotmart Platform. If the Producer needs to immediately remove a team member's access, they must unlink that person's team-member access from the account. This is enough to prevent their credential from granting query and action permissions in MCP.

❯ Do my team members need to follow the same steps to use MCP Hotmart?

Yes. The setup process is exactly the same. Each team member must follow the installation and credential-creation steps within their own access account on the Hotmart Platform. The only difference is the authorization level: MCP respects the permissions linked to each person's profile. In other words, a team member can only view information or perform actions they already have access to in the account they work in.

❯ How do I disconnect MCP Hotmart from my account?

The process varies depending on the assistant you use:

• In Claude Desktop, remove the MCP Hotmart extension in Settings.
• In ChatGPT Desktop, remove the MCP server under Settings > Integrations > Plugins.

To also revoke authorization to access your account, go to Tools > View all > Hotmart Credentials in Hotmart, find the credential used by MCP, and delete it. Revocation is immediate and stops the assistant's access to your account.

❯ Is MCP Hotmart free?

Yes. MCP Hotmart is free for Producers with a Hotmart account. The only requirement is to have Claude Desktop or ChatGPT Desktop installed on your computer.

❯ Do I need a paid account with the AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to use MCP Hotmart?

It depends on the assistant:

• Claude Desktop: works with free accounts.
• ChatGPT Desktop: requires a paid plan that provides access to Work mode, where the MCP server is configured.

If you use other MCP clients (such as IDEs or custom agents), their terms of use follow each tool's policies.

❯ Does Hotmart store data from my conversations with the AI assistant?

Conversations are stored only by the assistant itself (Claude or ChatGPT), according to each platform's policies. You can keep or delete your history at any time in the AI settings. Hotmart does not have access to the content of your conversations, only to calls made to its API, which are recorded in the Platform's standard logs.

❯ Is it safe to connect my Hotmart account to an AI assistant?

Access is provided through a personal credential created in your Hotmart account and can be revoked at any time. In addition, MCP respects your profile permissions.

When you request an action that changes account information, such as creating a coupon, canceling a subscription, or issuing a refund, the assistant shows what will be done and asks for your confirmation before carrying out the operation.

❯ Can I use MCP Hotmart with other AI assistants?

MCP Hotmart has documented setup instructions for Claude Desktop and ChatGPT Desktop. You can also use it in IDEs, custom agents, and other MCP-compatible clients through manual configuration.

❯ I have more than one Hotmart account. Can I use MCP with all of them?

Yes, but MCP connects to one Hotmart account at a time. To use another account, you need to replace the credential linked to the current account in the assistant settings with the credential for the other account.

❯ Can I view information about Affiliates and Co-producers through MCP Hotmart?

MCP lets you view some information related to commissions and sales participants, such as commission data and participants in a transaction. Not all features related to Co-production and Affiliation are available through MCP.

❯ How is my data handled when I use MCP Hotmart?

Queries made through MCP happen in real time using the data available in Hotmart. For the integration to work, Hotmart does not replicate or store this data in an external database.

According to the integration rules, Hotmart data sent to the assistant to respond to a request is also not used to train third-party models.
