If you're getting a verification code via email when trying to log into your Hotmart account, don't worry—this is a key security feature that helps protect your account.
In this article, we’ll explain why you’re receiving these codes, how two-factor authentication (2FA) works on the platform, and what to do if you’re having trouble getting the code.
What is 2FA and why is it important?
2FA, or two-factor authentication, is an extra layer of security that helps prevent unauthorized access to your account. In addition to your password, you’ll also need to verify your identity using a second step, such as a code sent to your email or generated by an authenticator app. Even if someone gets your password, 2FA makes it much harder for them to access your account.
When will I receive a code by email?
Verification codes are sent automatically in certain login situations, especially when the system detects the need for extra security. You may receive a code when:
- You log in from a new device
- You clear your browser’s cookies or cache
- The system triggers a security alert, even if you've logged in before
- 2FA is enabled, but an authenticator app hasn’t been set up yet
The code will be sent to the email address linked to your account. To complete login, you’ll need to enter the code along with your password. Once logged in, the device will be marked as trusted for 30 days, except for mobile devices, which require authentication every time you log in.
Tips to make sure you receive the verification code
If the code doesn’t arrive in your inbox, here are a few things to check:
-
Spam or junk folder: The email might have been filtered incorrectly
-
Registered email address: Make sure the correct email is linked to your Hotmart account
-
Inbox storage: A full inbox may block incoming messages, clear space if needed
-
Wait a few minutes: Delivery time can vary depending on your connection or email provider
-
Resend the code: Click Send new code on the login screen to receive another email
