The verification codes sent to your email are part of the two-factor authentication (2FA) process, which adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your login password, you'll need to enter a verification code sent to your email.
It requires identity confirmation through two distinct factors, making it much harder for an attacker to gain access to your account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why use 2FA?
Using 2FA significantly increases the difficulty for someone unauthorized to access your account, acting as an additional barrier even if your password is compromised. Without 2FA, your account is more vulnerable to unauthorized access, especially if your password is discovered or compromised in any way.
How does 2FA via email code work?
With 2FA active, every time you log in, a verification code will be sent to the email associated with your Hotmart account. You'll need to enter this code, in addition to your password, to access your account. After logging out, the device on which authentication was performed will automatically be recognized as trusted. Thus, authentication will only be requested again after one month, with the exception of mobile devices, where authentication will be requested at each login.
Recommendations and Best Practices
Receiving the Verification Code
When requested at login, the verification code should arrive in your email within 5 minutes. If not, check the following steps:
- Check your email's Spam or Junk folder: the email with the verification code may have been wrongly marked as spam.
- Check if your Inbox is full: if your Inbox is full, clear some emails and request a new code by clicking on Send new code, below the code entry field on the login page.
- Wait a few minutes: there might be a delay in sending the email. If after a few minutes you still haven't received it, try requesting a new code as directed above.
- Verify the registered email is correct: confirm that the email associated with your account is correct and that you're checking it.
Account Email Compromised
If the email associated with your account is compromised, it's crucial to act quickly to protect it. For this, we suggest the following actions:
- Try to regain access to your email following your email provider's instructions.
- Change the password of your email and of your account that uses 2FA.
- Contact your email provider's support to report the problem and seek further assistance.
Important: If you no longer have access to your registered email on the Hotmart account and are unsuccessful in recovering the account with your email provider, it's possible to change the email of your Hotmart account. To make the change to a secure and reliable email, follow the instructions in our article How to change my access email? (Producer/Affiliate)
Sharing Access with Third Parties
Hotmart does not allow sharing access to your account with third parties, as directed in our Terms of Use in section 2.7. Access Password and Account Activities
If other people need to access your account to manage content or for any other reason, we have a safe alternative for you: the Collaborators Center. This feature allows the Producer to register profiles with permissions to perform specific tasks, helping in the management of your sales and clients.
The Producer can assign specific permissions to each profile and add collaborators to each of them. By activating this option, you can enhance security, as it's possible to identify each user accessing your account. To learn how to activate the collaborators center, click here.
If you have any more questions about the security of your account, feel free to contact our customer support. We're always here to help ensure the security of your account.
