Subscription Negotiation is a Hotmart feature that allows creators to offer agreements for the payment of overdue installments and, in some cases, advance future subscription charges.
In this article, you'll learn who can use this feature, which types of negotiations are available, how to create a negotiation, and the rules you should keep in mind throughout the process.
Who can use it?
This feature is available for products that meet the following criteria:
- Subscription products offered in BRL (Brazilian Real), MXN (Mexican Peso), or COP (Colombian Peso).
Subscription Negotiation is available exclusively to creators. The available payment methods for each currency are:
- BRL: Bank payment slip and Pix
- MXN: OXXO
- COP: Efecty
What types of negotiation are available?
The feature allows you to create three types of negotiations.

Important information about subscription negotiations
Before creating a negotiation, review the following rules and how the feature works:
- Installment anticipation is available only for purchases recovered through Automatic Sales Recovery and is limited to two recurring payments per negotiation. This option is no longer available for subscriptions. If you need to anticipate subscription recurring payments, use the Early Renewal feature.
- For overdue installment negotiations created through Automatic Sales Recovery or for subscriptions that use an external members area, there is no limit to the number of recurring payments that can be negotiated.
- For subscriptions that use Hotmart Club, only the latest overdue recurring payment can be negotiated.
- After a negotiation is created, the negotiated amount cannot be reprocessed. A new charge attempt will only occur if the buyer updates their registered credit card. Otherwise, payment must be made using the payment method generated during the negotiation (bank payment slip, Pix, OXXO, or Efecty, depending on the offer currency).
- Negotiations completed through bank payment slip, Pix, OXXO, or Efecty do not change the payment method used for future subscription charges.
- Once a negotiation is paid, the installments included in the agreement are removed from the negotiation screen. However, they remain recorded as overdue installments in the system, and a negotiation purchase is associated with each one.
- If a recurring payment that has already been included in a negotiation is paid again, the system automatically issues a refund. If the payment was made using a bank payment slip, the buyer will receive an email requesting the information required to process the refund.
- When the subscription uses a members area managed by the creator, the creator is responsible for granting access according to the number of installments paid through the negotiation. For example, if the buyer pays two overdue monthly installments, the creator can grant two additional months of access at the end of the subscription.
