If you're reading this article, it's probably because you've thought about reusing content from an online course you created and applying it to a new product. Now, Hotmart Club makes this process easier by allowing content import, whether complete modules or specific pages.
Content import between online courses works as follows: when creating content in product "B," you can select and import content from product "A" to "B." This process allows the copying of entire modules, specific pages, and used media. However, there are some import rules that will be mentioned at the end of this article.
This feature is available to users with the roles of "Admin" and "Content editor," who have permissions to create and manage content in their Members Areas. This feature can be accessed directly in the Content tab of Hotmart Club, where you create, set up, and manage all your content.
In this article, we will guide you through the import process, including the step-by-step instructions on how to import content and the important rules you need to know.
How to import content?
Here is the step-by-step guide to using this feature:
- First, you must access Hotmart Club.
- In the left-hand side menu, click on Products and select the product where you want to create content.
- Click on the Content tab to import content from another product, and then click on the Import content button located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select the online course that contains the content to be imported. The list will show all products linked to your user, regardless of whether they are added to your Members Area or not.
- Choose the modules and/or pages you want to import. The content available for import includes quiz, modules and pages, both main and additional. However, Announcements and Lives cannot be imported between products.
- Confirm the import action. In each import, you can replicate 50 modules, each with up to 200 pages. If your selection exceeds this limit, a warning will appear indicating that you need to remove some content from the selection.
- You can follow the import in a modal that provides real-time feedback on the process. You will be able to close it at the end of the import process.
- Once the import is complete, you can reorganize and rename the imported content, as well as configure its release and expiration if you use this feature.
Important rules
❯ Content editing: the duplicated page will not be associated with two different products. Therefore, when editing the content in one product, this edit will not be reflected in the other. You will need to edit the content of different products separately.
❯ Content release: the scheduling configuration (release or expiration) is not replicated in the new product.
❯ Groups: the imported content will always be linked to a standard group, and you will need to manually link new groups in the Groups tab of Hotmart Club.
❯ Learning tracks: learning tracks must be created before importing the modules and pages. In this case, you will need to create the track in the new product, import the content, and associate it with the new track created.
❯ Activation of Streaming use: media in the content will only be displayed in the destination product if the Hotmart Player is activated for that product.
❯ Deleted content: if source content (the first one that was replicated to others) is deleted, the content replicated from the Content Import will not be affected. However, if a video hosted on the Hotmart Player and used in multiple classes is deleted in the Player library, this will be reflected in all content where the video was used, and all will be deleted.
❯ Thumbnails in the Hotmart Player: although replicated content is not associated with two different products, if a video is hosted on the Hotmart Player and replicated in different classes, changing the thumbnail of the video in any of the classes will be reflected in all those that use the same video.
